"GASPE OF  YESTERDAY"

Begun in 1980 as a retirement project, "GASPE OF YESTERDAY" presents in Volumes 1 to 10 a total of 400 articles. The Directory that follows attempts to provide a detailed reference to the series. Information  is provided on the Number of each article, the Title, the Volume Number, the  Date of Publication by the Gaspesian newspaper, SPEC, as applicable, and the Broadcast Date of those topics carried by "Quebec A.M." on the CBC Radio Community Network.

The series has sought to recall and present varied aspects of our Gaspesian heritage. It not only reflects an historic time-frame of five centuries but the geographic reality of vast and varied physical space on the human experience in Gaspesia.

The series has been a personal and private venture. None of the very limited number of bound volumes have been for  sale but sets of them have been donated to:

  • Christopher, Richard and Andrew Annett, our sons.

  • The GaspĂ© Community Library.

  • The GaspĂ©sian British Heritage Centre.

  • The Literary and Historical Society of QuĂ©bec.

  • The Bishop's University Library.

  • Archives of The Anglican Diocese of QuĂ©bec.

  • Archives nationales du QuĂ©bec.

SPEC receive a copy of each  article, as completed, and has published some 190 of them in the period 1977-1995.

"QUÉBEC A.M." of CBC RADIO has broadcast talks on 70 topics of  the series.
